Ingredients:

  • 3 ounces vanilla vodka*
  • 2 ounces cranberry juice
  • 1/2 ounce champagne or sparkling wine (optional)
  • Ice
  • Candy sprinkles
  • Maple or agave syrup (or frosting if you happen to have it on hand)
  • Martini shaker
  • 2 Martini glasses
  • Shot glass

Directions:

  1. Pour either maple or agave syrup (or frosting) onto a small plate
  2. Pour candy sprinkles onto another small plate
  3. Invert your martini glasses into syrup to coat the rims completely
  4. Dip the rims in candy sprinkles to coat the syrup
  5. Set your glasses aside
  6. Fill your martini shaker roughly 3/4 full with ice
  7. Add the vanilla vodka and cranberry juice
  8. Shake the mixture to thoroughly blend
  9. Pour your mixture into two prepared martini glasses
  10. Optional: Add 1/2 ounce of champagne or sparkling wine to finish off your martini

Note: The best place for the vanilla vodka you’ll use in this drink is in the freezer. Using ice-cold vodka will make your birthday cake martini even more delicious. Don’t worry about leaving it in there, since vodka doesn't freeze.
